Gilly walks into the sunset

The great Australian wicketkeeper-batsman Adam Gilchrist retired from international cricket earlier this year. In Wisden 2008 Ian Healy, his predecessor behind the stumps for Australia, paid tribute. Says Healy, 'Gilchrist is a player who should be remembered as even better than his statistics suggest'

The Five Cricketers of the Century

A feature of the Millennium edition of Wisden in 2000 was the selection of five Cricketers of the Century. A panel of 100 all cast their votes - and every one of them included Don Bradman in their quintet

Browse editions Since 2004, each Almanack contains details of all the international cricket played in the previous calendar year - so the 2006-07 Champions Trophy, which took place towards the end of 2006, appears in Wisden 2007. Until 2003 the Almanack covered the cricket played in the previous year's English summer, and the overseas season that preceded it - so, for example, the 2002 Wisden covers the cricket played in England in 2001 and overseas in 2000-01.
