by Wisden Staff 15 minute read

England and Jos Buttler smashed the West Indies bowling to all parts as the latter brought up his maiden 150 in ODI cricket. Here are a selection of the best stats from the staggering performance.

24 – sixes hit by England, the most ever in an ODI innings. The previous record of 23 was set by West Indies in the first ODI of this series.

76 – balls in which Jos Buttler brought up his 150, the second fastest in ODI cricket.

31 – balls in which Buttler moved from 50 to 150.

418 – runs scored by England, their third highest ODI total. Their five highest ODI scores, and 10 of their top 11, have been scored since the 2015 World Cup.

Buttler and England each smashed sixes records

158 – runs scored by England in the last 10 overs, the third most in an ODI innings. West Indies have also been on the receiving end of the top two entries in this list, both hit by South Africa.

12 – sixes hit by Buttler, the most by an Englishman in an ODI innings

6051 – ODI runs scored by Eoin Morgan for England. He is the first player to score more than 6000 runs in ODIs in an England shirt. Charlotte Edwards, with 5992 runs, was the closest before him.

107 – runs scored by Buttler in the last 10 overs, the sixth most scored by a batsman between overs 40 and 50 of an ODI innings. Buttler is also fourth on the list, for his 111 scored in the last 10 overs against Pakistan in 2015. AB de Villiers and Rohit Sharma are the only two other batsmen to emulate Buttler’s feat. De Villiers has also done so twice, and Sharma has done so three times.
