Mark Ramprakash out of England coaching set-up for Ashes

by Wisden Staff 3 minute read

Mark Ramprakash has announced that he will not be England’s batting coach for this summer’s Ashes.

In a post on Twitter on Friday night, Ramprakash said: “I’ve just been informed that I will not be involved in the Ashes series.

“It’s been a huge privilege to support the team over the last 5 years. I’d like to wish all the staff & players the very best of luck for the future.”

The end of Ramprakash’s stint comes after it was announced last month that Paul Farbrace will leave his post as assistant coach after the ongoing T20I series against West Indies to take up the role of sport director at Warwickshire.

Current head coach Trevor Bayliss revealed in January of last year that he will step down as England head coach at the end of his contract in September.
