Jos Buttler rushed for x-ray after injury in the slips

by Wisden Staff 2 minute read

Jos Buttler was sent to a hospital for an x-ray after injuring his left middle finger during today’s morning session.

The new England vice-captain suffered the blow in an attempt to catch Virat Kohli off Sam Curran whilst fielding in the slip cordon.

The ECB confirmed this afternoon that Buttler had left Edgbaston for a scan on his finger at a nearby hospital.

It was not the last of the drama to take place in the slip cordon, as catches were dropped by Dawid Malan and Alastair Cook.

*It was later revealed that Buttler had not suffered a fracture and would continue his involvement in the game
