Missing cricket? Buttler’s pilates workouts in full kit are here to save the day

Jos Buttler, in the ultimate act of trolling those who compromise personal safety to feed their machismo, covered himself with protective cricket gear from top to bottom while doing pilates with his wife Louise.

We’ve seen an era not so long ago, when some of the game’s greatest, such as Sunil Gavaskar and Viv Richards, walked out to face a hard leather ball delivered at 150kph without so much as a cloth over their head. But in these times of Coronavirus you can’t be too careful.

Buttler pilates session, under the watch of his wife Louise, a professional pilates expert and the founder of LB Pilates was necessary viewing. In a five-part video on Instagram, Louise takes Buttler through five pilates exercises, including the very popular bridge, the roll-up and the side planks.

Now, pilates is a serious form of exercise that helps improve muscle strength, postural alignment, flexibility and overall conditioning. But none of this would be so hilarious if Buttler hadn’t decided to show up for the session in full cricket gear.

Next time, we’d like to see elbow guards too, Jos.
