Cummins cut through Pakistan’s top order, plucking three of the first six wickets to fall as the visitors underwent a middle-order collapse on Day 2. Fifties from Abdullah Shafique and Shan Masood gave them a platform, but they lost five wickets for 46 runs to hand Australia the upper hand.
Among the highlights of the day was Cummins’ delivery to dismiss Babar Azam.
Off the third delivery of the 37th over, Cummins angled one into Babar, with the ball jagging off the pitch just slightly. It nipped back into the right-hander, who couldn’t cover the movement, the ball clattering into his off stump after escaping his bat and pad.

Cummins had also dismissed Babar in the first Test at Perth, inducing an outside edge off another beauty in the second innings.
At stumps on Day 2, Pakistan were 194-6, with Mohammad Rizwan batting on 29, and Aamer Jamal giving him company with a 26-ball two. Cummins finished the day with figures of 3-37.
