In a glorious mismatch, a club side lost a 45-over game by 424 runs after the entire team folded for two runs.

A third-tier Division One match in the Middlesex County League ended up producing one of the most lopsided scorecards ever, when North London CC's 3rd XI beat Richmond CC's 4th XI. Tragically electing to field first after winning the toss, Richmond's bowlers were taken to the cleaners, conceding at nearly nine-and-a-half per over.

North London amassed 426-4 in 45 overs. Incredibly, it took just a further 5.4 overs for the game to wrap up.

Surprisingly, only one player crossed 50 for North London – Dan Simmons, who scored 140 – with Zach Levitt (43) and Nabil Abrahams (42) being the next best. Simmons' opening partner R Gladwin fell for 1, but every other batter entered double-digits. Despite the steep run-rate, North London only hit 10 sixes in all.

There were a whopping 92 extras, including 65 wides and 16 no balls.

In response, Richmond, led by opener Michael Wrathall, succumbed to two all out: only one batter managed to trouble the scorers, with the other one run coming off a wide.

Unsurprisingly, only the opening bowlers were required to bowl: Matt Rosson finished with figures of 3-3-0-5, while Tom Spawton took three wickets in 2.4 overs, conceding two runs.

The win gave North London ten points: they're placed third with 21 points, while Richmond are sixth with 11 in a nine-team table.
