Dumbleton Cricket Club created history in the Varistha Cheltenham Premier T20, smashing 417 runs in their 20 overs against Hatherley & Reddings CC and also won the match by a staggering 188-run margin.
A batter smashing a double-century in 54 balls. The team hitting 47 sixes while scoring 417-2 in 20 overs. These are not the details of a cricket match played on a gaming console. The Dumbleton Cricket Club achieved these numbers against Hatherley & Reddings Cricket Club in the Varistha Cheltenham Premier T20 competition.
Dumbleton created history at their home ground on Tuesday, July 7, smashing 417 runs in their 20 overs. Openers Thomas Kelly and Ewan Gegg added 112 runs in just 6.1 overs, with the former smashing 64 runs off just 25 balls.

However, it was Gegg who turned heads with a stunning double-century off just 54 deliveries during his stay in the middle. He remained unbeaten on 206 off 55 balls 13 fours and as many as 23 sixes.
Dan Holland, who came out to bat in the seventh over, didn’t leave any stone unturned either as he hit 122 off 37 balls. He sent the ball out of the ground 16 times and also smacked four fours during his 41-minute stay in the middle.

Gegg and Holland notched up a partnership of 211 runs in just 59 balls. Even after the second wicket fell, Dumbleton were far away from the 400-run mark but it was Gegg who switched gears dramatically, facing 19 of the last 24 deliveries as he took his team beyond 400.
Dumbleton accumulated as many as 370 runs through boundaries, having smashed 22 fours and 47 sixes during their innings.
Hatherley & Reddings batters had no option but to smash every ball in the chase, with the required run rate being 21. They did well to score 229 before getting bowled out in the final over of their innings. Opener Harry Bloomfield scored 109 off 48 balls with six fours and 12 sixes.
Hatherley & Reddings smacked 19 sixes, taking the match tally to a staggering 66. Fittingly enough, the double-centurion Gegg picked up the last wicket to fall in the match as Dumbleton registered a massive win by 188 runs.
