In the 2025/26 President’s Cup, Awais Zafar hit the fastest List A hundred by a Pakistani in Pakistan.
Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) posted 379-6 on the opening day of the 2025/26 President’s Cup, against the Water and Power Development Authorities (WAPDA). The bulk of the scoring was shared by the two centurions, Saad Khan (115 in 102 balls, 14 fours, three sixes) and Awais (108 not out in 57, five fours, nine sixes). This was Awais’ first List A hundred.
Awais took only 55 balls to bring up his hundred, which makes it the joint-fastest on Pakistan soil in List A cricket. Sanath Jayasuriya had also taken 55 balls to reach his hundred against Bangladesh at Karachi during the 2008 Asia Cup. That makes Awais’ hundred the fastest by a Pakistani on home soil. He broke the 56-ball efforts of Mubasir Khan and Irfan Khan.
