Sadaf Shamas scored her fifth fifty-plus score in five games in the third ODI against Zimbabwe on Saturday (May 9).
Sadaf Shamas extends golden run with fifth consecutive 50+ knock in ODIs
The Pakistan batter was dismissed for a 98-ball 90 after a 220-run opening stand with Gull Feroza, who scored a second consecutive ton and a third fifty-plus score in the three-match series. This was Shamas’s third score of 90 or more in the series, having hit 98 and 101 in the first two games.
The opening pair also fell just one run short of the national record of the highest ODI partnership, which is held by Sidra Amin and Muneeba Ali, who added 221 runs together for the first wicket against Ireland in Lahore in November 2022. Shamas and Feroza's stand took Pakistan to a comfortable nine-wicket win and a 3-0 series sweep.

The Shamas-Feroza duo had added 189 and 162 runs for the opening wicket in the first two games of the series, respectively. They now hold the record for the second, third, and fourth-highest opening partnerships for Pakistan in the format with these three stands.
Shamas’s golden run started during the preceding South Africa series, where she scored 61 as Pakistan fell just 15 short while chasing a massive 362 in the second ODI. She then played a match-winning knock of 97 off 82 in the third match to help her side avoid a clean sweep.
She started the Zimbabwe series with a 98 in the first ODI before notching up her maiden hundred in the format in the second game. With the 90 in the third game, Shamas finished the series as the top scorer with 289 runs at 96.33 in three games.
