Sri Lanka international Kamil Mishara made his third first-class century in four innings during day three of the second unofficial Test against New Zealand A.

New Zealand A won the toss and elected to bat first on day one (April 23) at Galle. They were 238-4 by stumps, courtesy of Matthew Boyle's 102, but were bundled out for 305 early on day two thanks to Dilum Sudeera's 6-107.
Sri Lanka A openers Nishan Madushka and Lahiru Udara put on 98 before Udara fell for 61, bringing left-hander Kamil Mishara to the crease. The pair scored rapidly, bringing up a 50-run stand off 50 balls. The stand was worth 93 when Madushka was dismissed for 57, but by then Mishara had gotten to a half-century off 39 balls, and was unbeaten on 72 off 57 by stumps, with nightwatcher Mohammed Shiraz for company.

The No.3 batter made it to a century off 107 deliveries shortly before lunch, with a boundary off Rohit Gulati. He ramped up the scoring rate thereafter; Gulati, Dale Phillips, Simon Keene and Tim Pringle all bore the brunt of the acceleration. It took only 36 balls for Mishara to go from 100 to 150, and was eventually dismissed by Keene for 174 off 168 deliveries.

This is his ninth century in first-class cricket, and his third in his last four innings. 174 is his fifth score in excess of 150, and the second-highest of his career. Mishara's career-best of 187 not out came this March, for Nondescripts Cricket Club against Colts Cricket Club in Sri Lanka's Major League Tournament. That innings had followed knocks of 90, 149 and 61 in succession, taking his tally to 661 runs in his last five first-class outings.
Mishara also featured in the three one-day games against New Zealand A, making 71, 19 and 83. These performances come on the back of a lean T20 World Cup, where he featured in four games for Sri Lanka, but made just 54 runs and struck at 122.
