Innocent Kaia continued his Bradman-esque form, slamming his maiden Test ton in the ongoing match against Bangladesh in Harare.
Kaia scored 140 runs off 227 balls, featuring 17 fours in the first innings of the one-off Test against Bangladesh. He managed to convert his golden run of form in domestic cricket to international cricket, notching up his seventh century in last 11 innings.
Since February 19, 2026, the 33-year-old has amassed 995 runs at an average of 110.55 across first-class and List A cricket, which also includes his scintillating century against Bangladesh in Harare. For the unversed, Kaia plays Southern Rocks in the domestic circuit and has been scoring runs for fun this season.
In the last 11 outings, the opening batter has been dismissed for a score of less than 30 only twice and would be now looking to continue this consistent run at the international level too.

Innocent Kaia’s knock helps Zimbabwe take massive first-innings lead
As for the Test match, Zimbabwe’s fast bowlers vindicated their captain’s decision to bowl first as they skittled Bangladesh for just 140 runs in 47.2 overs. In response, the opening duo of Kaia and Ben Curran got the team off to a flyer, adding 89 runs in just 16.1 overs.
Apart from Kaia, middle-order batters Brian Benett (59), Craig Ervine (60) and Wessly Madhevere (77*) also made crucial contributions. Zimbabwe were eventually bowled out for 410, securing a massive 270-run first-innings lead.
