Pakistan’s Hasan Nawaz scored an unbeaten 80 in just 40 deliveries to continue his fine form in the National T20 Cup.
Nawaz, who holds the national record of smashing the quickest T20I hundred - in 44 balls against New Zealand last year - did not find a place in the recent T20 World Cup squad. The 23-year-old, who had an unusual start to his T20I career, making two ducks before the record ton in his first three games, has made 457 T20I runs at 20.77 from 24 innings, but with a strike rate of 154.39. However, he was dropped from the white-ball teams ahead of the series against Sri Lanka in November 2025, and has not featured since.

Nawaz, who is playing for the Sialkot Region in the competition, started by scoring a 10-ball six against Karachi Blues, but has reversed his form since then, making 41 (28), 57 (34) and 80* (40). His latest innings - against Multan on Monday (March 16)- came in the run chase of 164, after his team lost two quick wickets.
Walking at 63-2, after both the openers fell at the score, Nawaz contributed with 80 off the remaining 101 runs needed for a win. Combining first with Abdullah Shafique (16 in 19), and then Ahsan Hafeez Bhatti, Nawaz took the team home in a last-over run chase.
The last over, however, was not without suspense: Sialkot needed 13 off six balls, with Nawaz having struck three sixes in the 19th over. The last began with a four towards backward point, before he survived a close run-out chance on the second ball. However, he sealed matters with another four before taking a tight double, to ensure his team qualified for the semi-finals. Multan were knocked out of the competition following their defeat. Silakot will play Karachi in the semi-final on Tuesday (March 17).
