Anvay Dravid hits maiden fifty for India U19

Picked for the Youth ODI series against Sri Lanka U19, wicketkeeper Anvay Dravid had made 14 on his India U19 debut in the first match. However, thanks to Kushagra Jha (92 in 67 balls), India still chased down 321 with four wickets and four balls in hand.

India became 11-2 in the second Youth ODI. Dravid walked out at 78-3, which soon became 81-4. Arjun Rajput joined him at this stage, and the pair took the attack to the opposition camp, putting on 145 in 21 overs for the fifth wicket.

Rajput went first, for an 81-ball 76 with nine fours and a six. Dravid, the quicker scorer of the two, then fell for a 67-ball 87, also studded with nine fours and a six. India collapsed from there, losing their last four wickets for 22 runs in 25 balls. They were bowled out for 285 as Gimhan Mendis returned 5-41.

At the time of writing, Sri Lanka were 64-1 in 12 overs with Dimantha Mahavithana (29 in 34 balls) and Senuja Wekunagoda (20 in 27) at the crease.

Who is Anvay Dravid?

The younger son of former India captain and head coach Rahul Dravid, Anvay rose through the ranks in age-group cricket. Father and son made news in 2025 when they batted together in a club match.

Samit, his elder brother, had impressed in state-level age-group cricket and was also picked for India U19 for the 2024 home series against Australia but couldn't feature due to a knee injury. Anvay went a step further to take the field for the national U19 side.
