Rwanda's Hamza Khan and Botswana's Nabil Master broke the men's T20I world records for the highest score by an Associate batter and the most economical six-wicket haul respectively on Sunday (May 24) at the T20 World Cup Sub Regional Africa Qualifier.
164* (65): Hamza Khan smashes highest men's T20I score by Associate player
In the fourth match of Group A at the T20 World Cup Sub Regional Africa Qualifier between Rwanda and Ivory Coast, Rwanda batter Hamza Khan made a 65-ball 164 not out, breaking the record of Spain's Mohammad Ihsan, who had scored 160 (63) against Croatia in December 2025.
With this knock, Hamza now has the highest men's T20I score by a batter from an Associate team, and the second-highest men's T20I score of all time, sitting only behind Aaron Finch's 172 against Zimbabwe.
Hamza's opening partner Didier Ndikiubwimana made 69 off 45 balls to give him good support as Rwanda racked up 288-2 in their 20 overs. They continued their one-sided domination in the second innings as well, bowling Ivory Coast out for a mere 17 in 15.2 overs to win by 271 runs.

6-2: Nabil Master picks up most economical men's T20I six-wicket haul
The Rwanda-Ivory Coast match was followed by a clash between Botswana and Mali at the same venue, Botswana Cricket Association Oval 1, in Gaborone, the capital of Botswana.
Electing to bat first, Mali were bowled out for 24 in 9.4 overs. Six of the 10 wickets were picked by Botswana right-arm medium pacer Nabil Master.
Master came on to bowl in the sixth over and started with a maiden. By the time he returned for his second in the eighth over, Botswana had been reduced to 18-4. Master started with a wicket off the first ball of the eighth over, opening up the floodgates. He picked up two more in the over before taking another three wickets to close off the innings in the 10th.
Master finished with figures of 2.4-1-2-6. Interestingly, his six wickets came in three pairs of two consecutive wickets each – in overs 7.1 and 7.2, 7.6 and 9.1, and 9.3 and 9.4.
He broke the record of Singapore's Harsha Bharadwaj (6-3) for the most economical men's T20I six-wicket haul.
