Despite the post stating that the player only represented England “a handful of times”, Twitter users were quick to suggest Kevin Pietersen as a possible candidate.
You play yourself down Kevin.

A number of the suggestions centred on England players born outside of England; Owais Shah, Nick Compton and Boyd Rankin were all popular responses. Although there were a variety of responses – from Jason Gallian to Gavin Hamilton – there was little consensus.
List of retired England test players born overseas with < 20 caps:
Martin McCague
Jason Gallian
Usman Afzaal
Adam Hollioake
Owais Shah
Peter Such
Tim Ambrose
Take your pick! 🙂
My money is on Hollioake!— Tim Sutton (@SonOfBaccus) November 3, 2020
