Bangladesh won the first Test of the series by 104 runs, registering their third successive win against the opponents in the format. Batting first, Bangladesh posted 413 on the board, and then took a slender lead after bowling out the visitors for 386. It was Pakistan’s sixth consecutive overseas Test defeat, with the streak extending back to 2023. They have also been docked eight World Test Championship points for maintaining a slow overrate in the first Test, which meant they have slipped further in the 2025-27 WTC table.
