Babar Azam of Pakistan looks on during a Pakistan Nets Session at ICC Academy on February 21, 2025 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates

The 2025 BBL draft will take place on Thursday, June 19 – here’s a complete list of the players pre-signed for the new season.

The 15th edition of the BBL draft is set to be held on June 19. Before that, each team has been allowed to sign one overseas player for up to three years. Six of the eight sides already tied down renowned international cricketers like Tim Seifert (Melbourne Renegades), Chris Jordan (Hobart Hurricanes) Finn Allen (Perth Scorchers), Colin Munro (Brisbane Heat), and Tom Curran (Melbourne Stars) on multi-year contracts last year.

Adelaide Strikers have confirmed Jamie Overton’s return as their pre-draft overseas signing. The most high-profile signing, however, has undoubtedly been Pakistan star Babar Azam, who was secured by the Sydney Sixers and will now team up with Australia legend Steve Smith.

Babar, despite being dropped from Pakistan's T20I side, offers a wealth of experience, having played 320 matches so far. Among other Pakistan players, Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Rizwan, Haris Rauf, and Shadab Khan will be available for the upcoming draft. Apart from the pre-signings, all remaining overseas signings can only be secured from the draft or as a replacement player for a full-time squad member.
