CPL 2026 will be played from August 7 to September 20. Here is how the squads stack up after the CPL 2026 domestic player draft.
The 2026 edition of the CPL will be the first to feature seven teams, with the addition of Jamaica Kingsmen. The Barbados franchise, which played as the Royals until 2025, has reverted its name to Barbados Tridents. The edition will also mark the CPL debut of the Arnos Vale Stadium in St Vincent & the Grenadines, which will host the first three games.
Being a new team, Jamaica Kingsmen were allowed the first three picks from Jamaican players at the player drafts unchallenged. They used these to get Rovman Powell (who will lead them) and Andre Russell along with U19 World Cup leg-spinner Vitel Lawes.
Every franchise can pick 17 players, including nine senior West Indies cricketers, five overseas players, and three breakout players. At least one member from the last group must play in every match.
Here is how the teams stack up after the dometic player drafts. The overseas cricketers will be picked through direct negotiations.
