England have called-up Henry Crocombe for their ODI series against Sri Lanka, in the same week he took consecutive County Championship hat-tricks.
Sussex pacer Henry Crocombe has earned his maiden England white-ball call-up for their upcoming ODI series against Sri Lanka. The uncapped quick impressed in the last two rounds of the County Championship, taking hat-tricks in successive games to join a tiny group in the history of the game to have done so.
Crocombe was previously called-up to England's Test squad for their second match against New Zealand in June, as injury cover for Sussex teammate Ollie Robinson. He didn't make his debut on that ocassion but has been highly rated by England for some time.
England ODI squad vs Sri Lanka: Harry Brook (c), Rehan Ahmed, Jofra Archer, Gus Atkinson, Tom Banton, Sonny Baker, Jos Buttler, Jordan Cox, Henry Crocombe, Liam Dawson, Ben Duckett, Will Jacks, Jamie Overton, Adil Rashid, Joe Root, Josh Tongue.
Alongside Crocombe, England have also called up uncapped opening batter Aneurin Donald for the T20I series as an injury replacement for Phil Salt, who will sit out with a right quad injury. Jacob Bethell also won't feature in either series, having undergone knee surgery earlier this week.
England men's national selector Marcus North said:“Aneurin Donald and Henry Crocombe are two promising players who have earned their places on the back of impressive performances in domestic cricket. Aneurin has had an exceptional season for Derbyshire in the Vitality Blast and also with Trent Rockets in The Hundred while Henry is a player we have had an eye on all summer.”

Jamie Overton has returned to both squads after recovering from a thigh injury which kept him out of England's white ball series against India earlier this summer.
The series begins with the first of three T20Is on September 15 in Southampton.
