Thomas Rew, 17-year-old brother of England Test prospect James Rew, is set to captain England U19s against India later this month, weeks after his older brother captained the senior Lions side.
The younger Rew signed his first professional contract with Somerset last month, and made his senior debut for the club last month against Surrey in the T20 Blast. He first represented England U19s last year in their series against Sri Lanka U19s, and made a half-century in their youth Test match against South Africa earlier this year.
Appointing him as captain means both Rew brothers will have captained England development side XIs against their India counterparts within a month. James Rew captained the senior Lions side against India A ahead of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy earlier this month, fresh off the back of his first Test call up.

England U19s: Who is in the squad to face India U19s?
Several recognisable names feature in the England U19s squad, with Rocky Flintoff included after scoring two centuries for the side against Sri Lanka U19s last summer. He also toured with the senior Lions side in South Africa and Australia over the winter, scoring another century against a Cricket Australia XI in Brisbane.
Alongside him will be Durham all-rounder James Minto. Playing in just his fifth first-class game earlier this season, he scored a half-century after being promoted to open the order for the first time. Primarily picked as a left-arm pacer, Minto took five wickets against a Zimbabwe A side on Durham's pre-season tour earlier this year.
