England Women’s pre-season intra-squad camp, which was moved from Abu Dhabi to Pretoria after the original plans were cancelled due to security concerns linked to the conflict in the Middle East, has begun - here’s where you can watch the streaming live.
The squad was scheduled to travel to the UAE in the last week of February, but the trip was cancelled following air strikes in Iran and the resulting airspace closures across the region. Pretoria was eventually shortlisted as the new venue for the camp, designed as a competitive intra-squad series as part of preparations for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.
The first competitive intra-squad game between the two sides - Team Brittin, captained by Nat Sciver-Brunt, and Team Heyhoe Flint, led by Charlie Dean - was held on Monday (March 16), with Team Brittin emerging victorious.
Batting first, Team Heyhoe Flint made only 108-9 in their 20 overs, with Amy Jones top-scoring with an unbeaten 22 in 21 balls. Issy Wong was the star with the ball for Team Brittin, claiming 3-18 in four overs.
The run chase was led by Maia Bouchier (47* in 40) and Sciver-Brut, who made an unbeaten 41 in 25 deliveries, as they chased down the target in 12 overs.
The second intra-squad match will be played on March 19 (Thursday), and will be available to stream from 3.55pm GMT.
