Surrey Academy spinner Ralphie Albert ran through India U19s in the second youth Test, taking six wickets to give England a first innings lead.
Albert, who is the grandson of legendary snooker player Jimmy White, blew India away after they made a strong start in their reply to England's 309. Vihaan Malhotra scored a century form No.3, while Ayush Mhatre continued on from his hundred in the first Youth Test to score 80 off 90 balls. After Alex French made the breakthrough to get Mhare, however, Albert took his opportunity.
He dismissed new batter Abhigyan Kundu in the following over, before getting No.5 Rahul Kumar in his next. Harvansh Pangalia could only last 35 balls before he too fell to Albert, with RS Ambrish registering a two-ball duck to become the young Surrey star's fourth victim. The wicket that secured his five-for, however, was his biggest, getting Malhotra for a 123-ball 120. After that wicket, the rest of the tail folded, and India U19s went from 170-1 to 279 all-out.
Albert ended with figures of 6-53 off 16 overs, adding to the three wickets he took in the first youth Test. The 17-year-old also scored a half-century in that match, batting at No.8 for 11.1 overs to secure a draw on the final evening.
When Albert was awarded his maiden red-ball England U19s cap by Graeme Swann ahead of the start of the first youth Test last week, his famous grandfather proudly posted on X (formerly Twitter). "Proud day as my grandson Ralphie gets his first England cap," wrote the six-time World Snooker Championship finalist.

Albert, who has yet to make his senior Surrey debut, played all five youth ODIs for England against India this summer, and took four wickets.
