The USA currently lead the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 table with 28 points after 20 games - here’s the updated standings.
The road to the 2027 ODI World Cup is already underway, with the qualification process kicking off soon after the conclusion of the 2023 edition held in India. The race began in February 2024, with several associate nations beginning their campaigns in hopes of securing one of the few coveted spots at the next global event.
A total of eight teams - USA, Netherlands, Oman, Scotland, Canada, Namibia, UAE and Nepal - are part of the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup League 2. Their objective is to finish among the top four by the end of the league's 144-match schedule, which concludes in 2026. Much like a prolonged league format, the competition is structured around 24 tri-series events, each consisting of six matches. These games are played across home, away, and neutral venues.
Teams that finish in the top four of League 2 will earn direct entry into the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier. Those who fall into the bottom four will have to take an alternative, more challenging route. They will compete in the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier Playoff, where they will face the top four sides from the lower-tier CWC Challenge League. The four best-performing teams from this Playoff will then progress to the main CWC Qualifier, joining the top four from League 2.

Ultimately, the top four teams emerging from the CWC Qualifier will seal their spots in the 2027 World Cup, which will be hosted across South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia.
The 2027 ODI World Cup will feature 14 teams. Of these, eight teams—based on ICC ODI rankings—will qualify automatically, in addition to the two full-member host nations, South Africa and Zimbabwe. Namibia, though a co-host, will not gain direct qualification due to their associate status and will need to qualify through the league pathway. The final four spots will be decided via the CWC Qualifier.
