Having won their first ever ODI series against Australia (2-1 in a three-match series), Bangladesh will now host Australia for three T20Is, scheduled for June 17, 19, and 21. The entire series will be played at the Bir Sreshtho Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Chattogram.
Unlike in ODIs, Bangladesh have a reasonable record against Australia in T20Is, having won four and lost seven games. At home, that number reads 4-2, including a 4-1 series win just ahead of the 2021 T20 World Cup.
Australia are currently in third place on the ICC men’s T20I rankings (behind India and England), while Bangladesh are eighth. In fact, Bangladesh are part of a very close seven-team cluster, where New Zealand (fourth) and Afghanistan (tenth) are separated by only 27 rating points.
