Sri Lanka beat Bangladesh 2-1 in a three-ODI series. Here’s what the 2025-2029 ICC Women’s Championship table looks like after the series.
Sri Lanka began their white-ball tour of Bangladesh with a defeat in a closely fought first ODI. The visitors batted first and needed fifties from Imesha Dulani and Hansima Karunaratne to get to 205-9. Bangladesh, in reply, were cruising at 199-3 but lost four wickets for just one run, eventually scraping through in the penultimate over.
Captain Chamari Athapaththu returned for the second game and put in a player-of-the-match performance to help Sri Lanka level the series. She picked up three wickets for 36 runs as Bangladesh were bowled out for 165, before scoring 40 off 39 to take her side home with four wickets to spare.
Bangladesh batted first in the decider, but their innings never took off. Sobhana Mostary top-scored with an 80-ball 74 from No.5 as the hosts posted 213-8. In the chase, Hasini Perera, opening the batting, fell just five short of a first ODI hundred while Imesha Dulani scored a half-century. Harshitha Samarawickrama finished the chase with a 44 as Sri Lanka won the match and the series. Perera was named the player of the match for her 95.
