India will lock horns with arch-rivals Pakistan in the gold medal clash of the Asian Games men’s cricket competition. Here’s how you can catch all the action live.
The gold medal clash is scheduled to take place in Nisshin on October 3, and will commence at 1:30pm local time (10am IST, 5:30am UK time), soon after the bronze medal clash between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, which is scheduled at 9am local time (5:30am IST, 1am UK time).
After their quarter-final against Afghanistan was abandoned due to rain, India advanced into the semi-final on the virtue of being the higher-ranked team. They then thrashed Sri Lanka in the semi-final on the back of Ishan Kishan’s unbeaten 46-ball 80 on a challenging wicket. Chasing 170, only Nuwanidu Fernando could register double figures (15) as Sri Lanka were bundled out for a mere 45.
Pakistan too advanced to the semi-final by virtue of being the higher-ranked team after their quarter-final against Hong Kong was abandoned. A wet outfield reduced their semi-final against Bangladesh to 13 overs. Pakistan kept Bangladesh to 111-7 and chased the target in 11.3 overs, with Hasan Nawaz (27*) and Abdul Samad (30*) taking them over the line.
