India have announced a 15-player squad for the 2026 Women's T20 World Cup.

The BCCI have named a 15-strong India squad for the upcoming 2026 T20 World Cup, scheduled to be played in the UK between June 12 and July 5. Harmanpreet Kaur will continue to lead the side, while Smriti Mandhana is her deputy. The same 15 members will play the three-match series against England ahead of the tournament.

How India have fared since the 2024 T20 World Cup

India, fresh off an ODI World Cup win, don't have the best memories from the last edition of the T20 World Cup in 2024, played in the UAE. Grouped alongside Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, they could win just two games to be knocked out from the group stage. Only captain Harmanpreet Kaur scored more than 100 runs with 150, while Renuka Singh and Arundhati Reddy picked up the most wickets for them with seven in four games.

India have played 21 T20Is since the last World Cup, and their record reads 13 wins and eight defeats, four of which came in the recent series defeat to South Africa, notably their only series defeat since the last World Cup. They toured England, hosts of the upcoming ICC event, in 2025 for a five-T20I series, winning 3-2. They also beat Australia 2-1 on their tour down under in February this year. India also defeated West Indies 2-1 and Sri Lanka 5-0 at home.

Harmanpreet Kaur's side are scheduled to play a three-T20I series against England between May 28 and June 2 before starting their World Cup campaign against Pakistan on June 14. They will then face the Netherlands, South Africa, Bangladesh and Australia on June 17, 21, 25 and 28, respectively, in the group stage.
