India star breaks into top three of all-time T20I batting rankings

Kishan has retained his No.1 in the latest ICC Men’s T20I rankings after smashing 145 against Zimbabwe across three T20Is at a strike rate of 154 and an average of 48.33. He currently boasts of 910 rating points but had briefly reached 916 points, the third-highest T20I ratings in history, after his 44-ball 81 with nine fours and two sixes in the second T20I.

He then lost six rating points after mustering only a 26-ball 29 in the final game to end at 910. The 916 remains his the career-best rating, which is more than what former captains Suryakumar Yadav and Virat Kohli attained in their respective T20I careers.

Abhishek Sharma is on top of the best-ever list in the shortest format of the game: he reached 931 points against Sri Lanka in Dubai last year. England’s Dawid Malan had 919 ratings during his T20I career. Kishan’s 916 is the third-best rating of all-time in the format, with Surya and Kohli being next at 912 and 909 ratings respectively.

Meanwhile, Abhishek Sharma has slipped from second to third while India’s T20I vice-captain Tilak Varma has jumped two places to sixth with 750 rating points.

Shubman Gill becomes No.1 ODI batter

India’s ODI captain Shubman Gill has become the No.1 batter in the format, surpassing New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell. The latter had an ordinary series in the West Indies, where he scored only 121 runs in three innings and lost a few rating points that benefited Gill. There is no other change among batters in the top 10 ODI rankings.
