India have announced a 15-member squad for the 2025 Women’s ODI World Cup starting from September 30.
India will be led by Harmanpreet Kaur, with Smriti Mandhana acting as her deputy. Jemimah Rodrigues and Richa Ghosh, the other two certainties from India’s top six, have also made the cut. Accompanying Mandhana at the top of the order will be opener Pratika Rawal, who currently averages 54.07 from 14 matches since making her debut against the West Indies in December. Her last series against England produced scores of 36, 3, and 26, but the selectors kept faith in the 24-year-old opener.
Deepti Sharma, Sneh Rana and Radha Yadav are two spin bowling all-rounder in the side. Radha recently captained India A to a series win in the unofficial women's ODIs against Australia A.

Shafali misses out on selection, Renuka returns
Shafali Verma, who made a comeback to India’s T20I side during their 3-2 win against England, was the second-highest scorer of the series. That led to debates on whether Shafali would return to the ODI side as well, having last played in October 2024. However, her scores of 52, four, and 36 in three one-dayers against Australia A, and 41, three, and three in the unofficial T20s that preceded them, didn’t inspire much confidence in the selectors, leading to her snub.
Doubts were cast over pace spearhead Renuka Singh’s fitness following a long injury layoff due to a stress fracture. Having not played for India since December last year, she has been declared fit and ready for the World Cup.
Having claimed a match-winning 6-52 in the ODI series decider against England in July, in what was only her fourth match, Kranti Goud also earns a spot in the team.
