The BCCI has announced India’s updated World Test Championship final squad, naming Ishan Kishan as KL Rahul’s replacement – here’s the full India team for the WTC final against Australia, including the latest player news, injury replacement updates and more.

India are set to face Australia in the final from June 7 to 11, 2023 at the Oval, London. The India team originally named their squad on April 25, announcing the return of Ajinkya Rahane and the absence of Jasprit Bumrah, among other talking points.

An updated squad was announced on May 8, ruling KL Rahul out of the match. Rahul had injured his right upper thigh during an IPL 2023 match for Lucknow Super Giants, and based on consultation, will undergo surgery for the same. He will undergo rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy thereafter.

Wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan has been named as his replacement. Kishan is yet to make his Test debut, but has played 14 ODIs and 27 T20Is for the team.

With no Rishabh Pant, Kishan is the second wicketkeeper in the squad, which features KS Bharat.

Additionally, Jaydev Unadkat was also ruled out after suffering a freak shoulder injury in the IPL nets. He hasn’t been ruled out yet, with a final decision to be taken later.

Further, Umesh Yadav suffered a minor hamstring injury while playing for Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL, and is currently under rehabilitation.

Three players have been named standby for the WTC final: Ruturaj Gaikwad, KL Rahul and Mukesh Kumar.
