Indian domestic batter Ankush Singh slammed a rapid ton in a steep run chase against Rajat Patidar's side in Madhya Pradesh Premier League 2026.
Ankush Singh hits record ton to chase down 258 against Rajat Patidar's Gwalior
Opening for Chambal Ghariyals against Gwalior Cheetahs, Ankush Singh scored 101 off 33 deliveries, hitting six fours and 11 maximums to help his side chase down a record 258 runs. His knock kept Chambal in the hunt, before No.8 Aman Bhadoriya’s 28-ball 60 took them over the line with two balls to spare.
Patidar, fresh off a second consecutive IPL title win for Royal Challengers Bengaluru, and captaining Gwalior in the MP Premier League, opted to bat first. Parth Chaudhary (73 off 38) and Kuldeep Gehi (88 off 42) drove the side towards a mammoth total, and Patidar finished the proceedings with a 16-ball 46 to take them to 257.
Mangesh Yadav, who was also with RCB in IPL 2026 but couldn’t get a game, contributed with an eight-ball 21 as well. He could bowl just 1.5 overs due to an injury, however, affecting Patidar’s plans as Mangesh also bowls in the death.
Ankush lost his opening partner for a golden duck, but that didn’t slow him down as he got to 87 off 28 by the end of the powerplay. He completed his ton off 31 deliveries with a maximum but was dismissed on the next ball. He was the second wicket to fall, with Chambal on 129-2 in the eighth over.
They underwent a mini-collapse, going from 129-2 to 155-6, but Bhadoriya saved the day, eventually taking them through. The 258-run chase was the highest-ever in the MP Premier League, while Ankush’s ton was the fastest hundred.
Ankush, notably, has played domestic cricket for Madhya Pradesh. He featured in six T20s, all of which came at the 2025-26 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, scoring 101 runs at a strike-rate of 148.52. He has played just one List A game, however, which came all the way back in 2018.
