Noorveer Singh of Bathinda Royals got out in the most bizarre fashion in the eighth match of the Sher-E-Punjab T20 League against Jalandhar Warriors.
The incident happened in the second innings when the Royals were chasing 206 runs. Noorveer played the last ball of the 14th over and was shadow batting immediately after that. Meanwhile, bowler Abhinav Sharma sensed an opportunity and threw the ball back at the stumps to affect the direct hit.
After the appeal from the Warriors, the matter was taken to the third umpire and replays clearly showed that the batter was outside his crease, and he was adjudged run out. Noorveer supposedly considered that the over had ended and didn’t realise that the ball was still in play. He scored 10 runs off seven deliveries before making a bizarre mistake to get out.

The wicket was a much-needed breakthrough for the Royals as the 50-run stand between Uday Saharan and Noorveer was broken. In the very next over, the Royals lost another wicket that slowed down their scoring-rate.
In the end, despite Uday’s majestic 86-run knock off 43 balls and Shahbaz Singh Sandhu’s 26 off 13, the Bathinda side fell agonisingly short by just three runs in the last-over thriller.
Prabhsimran Singh stars with second consecutive ton
Earlier in the game, the Jalandhar Warriors were propelled to 205 in their innings after losing the toss, thanks to their captain Prabhsimran Singh. He notched up his second consecutive century, smashing 110 off 56 deliveries with 10 fours and seven sixes.
He helped his team recover from 62-3 in the ninth over with an 118-run partnership with Aryan Yadav (39 off 19). The Warriors stunningly collapsed from 180-3 to 205 all out with three balls left in their innings. Ashwani Kumar picked up a hat-trick for the Royals to finish with figures of 4-35.
But the score just proved to be enough, with the bizarre dismissal of Noorveer possibly proving to be the turning point of the game.
