On Sunday (September 7), Isaac Mohammed, nephew of former England all-rounder Moeen Ali, scored a sparkling hundred to help England Under-19 keep their hopes alive in the Youth ODI series against Bangladesh Under-19.
Bangladesh, batting first in a rain-curtailed match reduced to 47 overs a side, posted a total of 272-9. This came after they won the series opener. Rifat Beg (51) and Rizan Hossain (57) were the two players to score half-centuries for the visitors, while James Minto (3-48) was the pick of the England bowlers.
England openers Joseph Moores and Isaac were tasked with providing a solid start – something they accomplished by stitching together a 68-run stand before Moores was dismissed by Shahria-Al-Amin for 47. From there, Isaac anchored the chase with a magnificent 104 from 95 balls, hitting six fours and nine sixes. Valuable contributions from Ben Mayes (30) and JA Nelson (35 not out) ensured England roared back into the series with a four-wicket win in 43.1 overs. The series is currently levelled 1-1 with three Youth ODIs to go.

How has Isaac Mohammed's career progressed so far?
Isaac made his Youth ODI debut during England's 2-3 series loss to India in June-July. He showed glimpses of his prowess, getting starts in three of the four opportunities he had.
However, it is in the Bangladesh series that he is truly unleashing his potential. The century was Isaac's highest score and his second fifty on the trot in his six-match Youth ODI career. In the series opener, he scored a rapid 75 from just 53 balls, an innings laced with four fours and seven sixes.
Just 17, Isaac has already made his senior professional debut, playing five matches in the 2025 One-Day Cup. His knock of 63 helped Worcestershire post a match-winning total of 340-9 against Essex in August.
He has also played eight T20s so far, all in the 2025 T20 Blast. He debuted with a promising 32 off 15 balls, which helped Worcestershire successfully chase a target of 156 against Durham with six wickets and 2.5 overs to spare. That remains his highest score in the format so far.
