The final of the Kerala Cricket League will take place on Sunday (September 7). Find out where to watch the summit clash live, including TV channels and live streaming.
When is the KCL T20 final, and which teams are playing?
The six-team Kerala Cricket League began on August 21, and after two-and-a-half weeks, the tournament is set to come to an end. At the end of the group stage, the Kochi Blue Tigers topped the league stage with eight wins in ten matches. Joining them in the playoffs were Thrissur Titans, Aries Kollam Sailors and Calicut Globstars.
The Titans and Sailors faced off in semi-final one on Friday (September 5), but it turned out to be a one-sided fixture as the Sailors bowled the Titans out for 86, and openers Abhishek Nair and Bharath Soorya completed a 10-wicket victory in 9.5 overs.
The second semi-final was much closer. Kochi rode on wicketkeeper Nikhil Thottath's unbeaten 64, and Muhammad Ashik's quickfire 31 off 10 balls to post 186-8 against Calicut. The Globstars slipped to 50-3 in the chase, before Akhil Scaria anchored the innings to try and keep them in the chase. But they needed 38 off the final over, meaning Scaria's 4, 6, 6, 6 in a row were only enough to keep him unbeaten on 72.
India batter Sanju Samson is part of the Kochi squad, which is captained by his brother Saly. But he will not be in action for the final, having joined up with the Indian team for a training camp in Dubai ahead of the Asia Cup.
The final will be played at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram, and starts at 6:45pm local time.
