ICC women's T20I bowling rankings: Linsey Smith shoots up 38 spots

The left-arm spinner put up a player of the series performance in the recent T20Is against New Zealand, taking six wickets in three games while averaging 8.33, with an economy of 4.16 per over. Her incredible outing helped her move up 38 positions in the latest ICC T20I rankings for bowlers to take the second spot.

Smith’s England teammate Sophie Ecclestone, previously ranked second, moved down a spot, and so did Lauren Bell, who is now fourth. Charlie Dean held on to her seventh spot to make it four English bowlers in the top seven, with a home T20 World Cup coming up. India’s Deepti Sharma completes the top five.

Among the batters, Sophie Devine jumped eight spots to enter the top 10 after finishing the England vs New Zealand series as its top run-getter with 132 runs in three games and a top score of 87. India captain Harmanpreet Kaur, previously ranked tenth, has dropped down to 11th as a result.

Harmanpreet's teammate Shafali Verma has gained a spot to sit at seventh now, while Amelia Kerr has dropped two positions and is eighth. Tahlia McGrath has also gained a spot and is now sixth.

Hayley Matthews, following a strong showing against Australia, has displaced Amelia Kerr, who had a disappointing England series, from the top of the all-rounder rankings.
