Surrey overseas batter Laura Harris equalled her own record for the fastest women's T20 half century, reaching 50 off 15 balls in the T20 Blast against Warwickshire at The Oval.

Harris came in in the fifth over of Surrey's chase at No.3, with the home side 46-1 in pursuit of 181. When she took strike to face her first ball from Mary Taylor, she was dealt a waist-high full-toss which she dispatched behind square on the leg side for a six.

Two more fours came off that Taylor over from Harris's bat, before she hit four consecutive fours off Millie Taylor in the next over. That put her on 27 off 10 balls. She needed just five more balls to reach 50, pumelling a six off Hannah Baker in the next over, running a single before going six, four, six off Georgia Davis in the next.

With that half-century, Harris equalled her own record for the fastest 50 in the history of women's T20 cricket. Harris now has two entries at the top of that list, having taken the same number of balls to reach her half-century for Otago Women in the Women's Super Smash in New Zealand in December 2025. She shares the record with Marie Kelly and Fatima Sana.

However, Harris has now bettered her own record for the fastest half-century in the history of the women's T20 Blast, having hit a 16-ball 50 for Warwickshire last year, before moving to Surrey at the start of the season. A 19-ball half-century for Warwickshire last year means she has the top three entries on the Blast record list.

Harris was ultimately dismissed for 81 off 32 balls, caught on the boundary by Charis Pavely off Millie Taylor. Four balls after her wicket, Surrey completed their win, chasing down 181 with five overs to spare. Surrey sit third in the T20 Blast points table, with one more match to play until Finals Day places are confirmed.
