Amelia Kerr record nZ vs SA

New Zealand captain Melie Kerr set a world record for most consecutive 30-plus scores in T20Is - men's and women's combined.

World record for Melie Kerr

New Zealand captain Kerr continued with her excellent form in the T20I series against South Africa. Having hit a 44-ball 78 in the series opener at Mount Maunganui, she made an 18-ball 32 at Hamilton and a 28-ball 30 at Auckland.

Now, at Wellington, she had 1-32 in four overs to help restrict South Africa to 159-6. Then, coming at one-drop after Issy Gaze fell early, she scored 31 in 29 balls as Sophie Devine (64 in 34) helped the hosts win with six wickets and nine balls in hand and take an unassailable 3-1 lead.

Kerr has now reached 30 in 10 consecutive innings in women’s T20Is. The previous record of nine was held by Sri Lanka’s Chamari Athapaththu and Romania’s Rebecca Blake. It is worth a mention that Blake’s phenomenal run had prompted the ICC to tweak their ratings system in 2025.

Across these ten innings (in 11 matches), Kerr has 554 runs at a strike rate of 142. She has also taken 12 wickets while going at a mere 6.74 an over.
