Sidra Ameen scores a century during Pakistan's ODI against South Africa

Pakistan batter Sidra Amin scored her fifth ODI hundred today (September 16), in a World Cup warm-up series against South Africa, widening the gap between her and and every other Pakistan batter who has scored a century in the format.

Batting at No.3, Amin walked out in the second over of the match after Shawaal Zulfiqar was dismissed by Ayabonga Khaka for a duck. Together with Muneeba Ali, the pair put on a 149-run second-wicket partnership, which took Pakistan to 150-2 in the 31st over of the innings. After putting on another solid partnership with Aliya Riaz, which took Pakistan well past the 200 mark, Amin reached three figures with a single off the final ball of the 44th over, the 127th ball of her innings.

That innings took Amin's hundred tally in ODIs to five. She last scored a century in an ODI in 2023, reaching the milestone against New Zealand in Queenstown, which followed on from a blistering year in 2022 when she racked up three hundreds, as well as an unbeaten 91.

She once again finished unbeaten in Lahore today, ending the innings on 121 off 150 balls, with Pakistan setting South Africa a 256-run target.

Most ODI centuries for Pakistan women: Sidra Amin in a class of her own

Only four women have scored ODI hundreds for Pakistan, and only two have ever done so more than once. Nain Abidi scored the first hundred by a woman for Pakistan in 2012, hitting 101* against Ireland in 2012. Javeria Khan is the other player with more than one ODI century to her name, both of her tons coming against Sri Lanka, and both unbeaten although separated by three years.

With the only other Pakistan batter with a century to her name being Muneeba Ali, who tonned-up against Ireland in the same match Amin scored her third ODI hundred in 2022, Amin now has more hundreds in the format than every other Pakistan batter combined.

Across all countries, Meg Lanning has the most women's ODI centuries of any player, having scored 15 across her 11 year career, while Suzie Bates is hot on her heels with 13. The only other two players with more than 10 ODI hundreds to their names are Tammy Beaumont (12) and Smriti Mandhana (11).
