Against Australia at Hobart, Shree Charani and Deepti Sharma both went past the Indian record for most runs conceded in a women’s ODI.
Unwanted distinctions for Shree Charani, Deepti Sharma
Australia captain Alyssa Healy lit up her final ODI with the second-fastest 150 in the history of the format. She smashed 158 in 98 balls, while Beth Mooney remained unbeaten on an 84-ball 106 as Australia piled 409-7, the third-highest score in their history.
Each of the five Indian bowlers conceded more than a run a ball. Of them, Shree Charani (10-0-106-2) and Deepti Sharma (10-0-90-1), both members of India’s World-Cup-winning squad in 2025, fared the worst. Both went past Priya Mishra’s 10-0-88-1 (the most runs conceded by an Indian in a women’s ODI) and now occupy the top two spots on this dubious list. Kashvee Gautam (10-0-83-1) finished at sixth place.
It is worth a mention that the top 12 entries on the Indian list have all come against Australia between 2024 and 2026. This also holds for the 14th and 15th places: the only exception, at 13th, is Gouher Sultana (10-0-72-0 against Sri Lanka at Mumbai in 2013).
