Smriti Mandhana has broken Rohit Sharma's record of the most runs scored in T20I cricket by an Indian across genders. The two openers were level on 4231 runs ahead of India's WT20I series opener against South Africa.
After South Africa elected to bowl first, Mandhana went past Rohit's tally with a single on the second ball of the innings, bowled by Sune Luus. She was eventually dismissed for a 14-ball 13, falling to Ayabonga Khaka.

Mandhana is now third on the overall list, behind only Suzie Bates and Babar Azam. Among Indians, Virat Kohli is fifth on the overall list, while Harmanpreet Kaur is ninth.
