The England-Sri Lanka T20Is begin on January 30 (Friday): Here are the full teams, injury updates and squads for the SL vs ENG series.

The two teams were involved in a three-match ODI series, which England won 2-1. They will now shift their focus to the shortest format, playing three matches in preparation for the T20 World Cup, co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka.

The second T20I will be played on February 1, with the third match scheduled for February 3.

Sri Lanka T20I squad vs England: Team updates

Sri Lanka have brought back Pavan Rathnayake into the T20I squad after his impressive 121 in the third ODI, while Nuwan Thushara, Kamindu Mendis and legspinner Dushan Hemantha have been left out.

Dunith Wellalage continues in the group despite not featuring in a T20I since September, alongside spin options Wanindu Hasaranga, Maheesh Theekshana, Dhananjaya de Silva and Charith Asalanka. The pace unit includes Dushmantha Chameera, Matheesha Pathirana, Eshan Malinga and Pramod Madushan. Kusal Perera also returns, with the T20 World Cup squad still to be finalised.

England T20I squad vs Sri Lanka: Team updates

England have named their XI for the first T20I, with the headline being the return of Jofra Archer. Archer was not picked for the series initially, but has returned to fitness sooner than expected. The fast bowler had missed the final two Ashes Tests with a side strain and was originally left out of the squad for the three-match series, with a comeback pencilled in for next month’s T20 World Cup.

Ben Duckett has been ruled out after suffering a bruised finger, which means Jos Buttler will move up to open the innings as he makes his record-equalling 401st appearance for England.
