Sri Lanka won the three-match ODI series against Pakistan 2-1, and here’s what the 2025-2029 ICC Women’s Championship table looks like after the result.
Pakistan took an early lead in the series by winning the first ODI at Hambantota by five wickets. After restricting the hosts to 210-9, Pakistan chased down the target with seven overs to spare, with Gull Feroza (78) and Sidra Amin (57) making fifties.
However, that was the only win they managed in the series. Sri Lanka bounced back to take the second game by eight wickets, chasing down 274 in 46.5 overs. Pakistan were led by Amin’s hundred, as they posted 273-5 on the board, but Vishmi Gunaratne (123) and Harshitha Samarawickrama (100*) held fort, taking Sri Lanka over the line.
In the decider, Sri Lanka’s bowlers led the way. Chethana Vimukthi, Chamari Athapaththu and Kavisha Dilhari picked up three wickets each, as Pakistan were bowled out for 187. The skipper, Athapaththu, then struck a fifty, guiding Sri Lanka to their first-ever ODI series win against Pakistan.

Sri Lanka have leapfrogged Pakistan to second place in the ICC Women’s Championship, which is being played to determine qualification for the 2029 ODI World Cup. Eight teams will automatically qualify for the next edition, including the top seven teams in the Women’s Championship table, along with the hosts.
