Sri Lanka named three squads for their tour of West Indies on May 25 (Monday).
Kusal Mendis appointed Sri Lanka white-ball captain
Sri Lanka will travel to the Caribbean for a month-long all-format tour that contains three ODIs from June 3-8, three T20Is from June 11-14 and two Tests from June 25-July 3. This is their second all-format tour of the West Indies, following the first in March 2021.
The most significant news from the squad announcement is a change in captaincy for both white-ball formats; Charith Asalanka and Dasun Shanaka had previously been in charge of the ODI team and T20I team respectively, but wicketkeeper Kusal Mendis has now been appointed captain in both formats.

Dhananjaya de Silva remains the Test captain, but has been dropped from the ODI squad; he was part of their last ODI series against Bangladesh. All-rounder Kamindu Mendis has been made vice-captain in all three formats.
Two uncapped players, batter Pasindu Sooriyabandara and all-rounder Isitha Wijesundara, are part of the Test squad, as they were for Sri Lanka’s prior engagement against Bangladesh in June 2025. Six players from that squad have not made the cut this time around though, including the retired Angelo Mathews and ambidextrous spinner Tharindu Rathnayake.
Wanindu Hasaranga and Eshan Malinga return to the T20I squad after going through injury issues at the 2026 T20 World Cup. Binura Fernando and Nuwan Thushara have also returned to the setup, as Matheesha Pathirana continues to miss out through injury; Pathirana was hurt during his first match of the ongoing IPL season, limping off after bowling just eight balls for the Kolkata Knight Riders.
