The Indian opener climbed one spot to grab the second position in the latest ICC T20I rankings for batters with 862 rating points. He smashed 121 runs in two matches against Afghanistan at a strike rate of 256 to go past Farhan, who is set to lead Pakistan at the Asian Games.

Farhan boasts 848 rating points and will be keen to improve on that at the Asian Games. India and Pakistan may end up facing at the Games, in the bronze- or the gold-medal match. Ishan Kishan continues to hold on to his top spot with 913 rating points, while Tilak Varma has slipped to eighth in the rankings after not getting to bat much in the last two matches. Tilak’s slide had to do with Jos Buttler smashing 80 off 44 with eight fours and three sixes in the first T20I against Sri Lanka on September 15 and rising a spot to seventh with 748 rating points.

Jasprit Bumrah has jumped seven places on his return to India’s T20I side and is 10th in the latest update. Varun Chakaravarthy has also climbed two spots to fifth, while Rashid Khan continues to be the No.1 bowler in T20Is.
