Somerset lift 2025 T20 Blast trophy

The 2026 season of the T20 Blast gets underway on Friday, May 23 – here's where you can watch the tournament around the world.

What are the changes to the T20 Blast format for 2026?

A revamped group stage means teams are now split into three groups; North, South and Central & West, rather than two. Each group comprises of six teams, who will each play 12 matches – six at home, and six away. After playing all of the other five teams in their own group twice, teams will then play an extra two matches against counties in other groups – one at home, and one away.

The top two teams in each group will qualify for the quarter finals, as well as the two third placed teams with the most points. The winners of those matches will continue to finals day, which will be on Friday, July 18 at Edgbaston.
