The incident occurred during the second quarter-final of the 2023 Asian Games. Hong Kong captain Babar Hayat was stumped by Rohail Nazir.
Masudur Rahman and Ruchira Palliyaguruge referred the decision to TV umpire Sarika Prasad, who noticed Hayat outside the crease when the stumps were broken, and ruled him out.
Hayat walked back to the pavilion. However, Prasad noticed that the ball had not been in Rohail’s gloves when he had knocked the bails off but were instead stuck near his stomach.
Hilarious scenes in Asian Games!!!
Stumping decision went to the 3rd umpire. He gave it out. Batsman went all the way back to the pavilion.
Then all of a sudden the third umpire realised that the ball was not even in the keeper’s gloves. 😂
So he signalled not-out again.… pic.twitter.com/DpLBfmbJTO
