The first match of the series will start on December 29 followed by the second match on December 31,  2023, before the final fixture unfolds on January 2, 2024. The iconic Sharjah Cricket Stadium is the preferred venue for all the games.

Afghanistan played two 50-over practice games ahead of the event and emerged victorious comprehensively in both of them. They will be eager to stretch their good run of form into the shortest format of the game.

Muhammad Waseem will lead the UAE side, while his counterpart Ibrahim Zadran is entrusted with the leadership duty of the tourists.

In T20I cricket history, the two sides have met on nine occasions, with Afghanistan prevailing in seven matches, clearly having the upper hand over the UAE, who have managed only two wins.

UAE are hosting Afghanistan for a T20I series for the second time this year. In February, the tourists clinched the bilaterals 2-1, thanks to Karim Janat’s 53 (38) in the first T20I before signing off in the final match with a rampant unbeaten 56 off 22 balls.
