Watch: Chris Gayle continues to entertain as a comical fielding lapse by him led to amusement during a 2023 Global T20 Canada clash against Brampton Wolves.

Playing for Mississauga Panthers, Gayle did not have a memorable start to the season, scoring only 10 off 11 with the bat. Only three batters from his side could get to double digits, as the Panthers were dismissed for 121.

He was also involved in an embarrassing incident while fielding when he failed to stop a ball that swivelled away at the very last moment. Mark Chapman played a cut short towards point, where Gayle was stationed. Gayle ran to his left and seemingly had the ball under control but just as he was about to bend over and throw it back, he realised the ball had spun away in the opposite direction. Gayle stumbled as he looked to turn towards the ball, picked himself up and reluctantly set off after it, but was not able to stop a boundary.

The Wolves went on to win the game by 52 runs, via the DLS Method.
