Watch: In an Emerging teams match between South Africa and Bangladesh on Wednesday (May 28), Tshepo Ntuli and Ripon Mondol were involved in an ugly on-field spat.
The incident took place on day two of the second four-day match between South Africa and Bangladesh's men's Emerging teams. In the game, which began on May 27 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur, the hosts elected to bat first.
By the end of day one, they had reached 242-7, thanks to Iftakhar Hossain Ifti's 109 and Moin Khan's 91. But the lower-order rallied at the start of day two, as there were partnerships of 45 and 67 for the eighth and ninth wickets respectively.

After 104 overs of Bangladesh's innings, they were 286-8 when off-spinner Tshepo Ntuli came on to bowl. The first ball of the 105th over saw No.10 Ripon Mondol advance down the wicket and smack a straight six. The broadcast camera followed the ball past the boundary, before re-focusing on the pitch.

In an extraordinary sequence, the bowler walked up to the batter and exchanged a few heated words, before shoving him and then grabbing the grill of his helmet. Mondol eventually pushed Ntuli off him, even as the umpire and a few South African fielders began to put themselves between the pair.
It is not clear what exactly Ntuli took offence to, or whether Mondol may have said something to set him off. Ntuli eventually dismissed Mondol 12 overs later for 43, as Bangladesh posted 371.
